Study reveals best, worst states for women to work, live

A new study is revealing the best states for women to work and live. And California is nowhere near the top of the list.

The Golden State didn't even make it into the top 20. California ranked 26!

In honor of Women's History Month, online financial site WalletHub analyzed the 50 states and the District of Columbia to find the best and worst environments for women.

The number crunchers looked at pay, economic success, health care access, unemployment, and poverty rates among other factors.

The top 5 states where women thrive the most are:

1. Minnesota

2. Massachusetts

3. Vermont

4. Maryland

5. New Hampshire.

The worst ranked states for women are:

47. South Carolina

48. Oklahoma

49. Louisiana

50. Mississippi

51. Arkansas
