Here is a list of Memorial Day events that have been planned around the Bay Area.

7 a.m.: Mill Valley volunteer firefighters' Memorial Day pancake breakfast, followed by a parade at 10:30 a.m. city hall, 26 Corte Madera Ave., Mill Valley

9 a.m. Memorial Day observance by the Castro Valley Veterans Memorial. Castro Valley Community Center, 18988 Lake Chabot Road, Castro Valley

9:45 a.m. Memorial Day ceremony prior to today's opening of California's Great America. The park will also offer free admission today to current and past service men and women. Great America, 4701 Great America Parkway, Santa Clara

9:45 a.m. Memorial Day flag raising ceremony and 10:30 a.m. parade. Lytton Square, Miller Avenue and Throckmorton Avenue, Mill Valley

10 a.m. Memorial Day meal at St. Anthony's dining room. This is the busiest day of the year at St. Anthony's. Some 3000 meals will be served, approximately 20 percent to veterans. St. Anthony's dining room, 121 Golden Gate Ave., San Francisco

10 a.m. Oakland's 94th annual Memorial Day commemoration presented by friends of Mountain View Cemetery. Mountain View Cemetery, 5000 Piedmont Ave., Oakland

10 a.m. Memorial Day ceremony presented by the United Veterans Council. Pittsburg Veterans Memorial, Harbor Street at Presidio Lane, Pittsburg.

10:30 a.m. Memorial Day observance at Danville's All Wars Memorial. Oak Hill Park, 3005 Stone Valley Road, Danville

10:30 a.m. San Francisco Memorial Day ceremony and parade. Starts with a grand march at 10:30 a.m. with the 191st Army Band from the Presidio Officers' Club, 50 Moraga Ave. 21-gun salute at noon at the National Cemetery. Main post lawn, 103 Montgomery St., Presidio, San Francisco

10:30 a.m. San Jose's 97th annual Memorial Day program. Mayor Sam Liccardo will deliver brief remarks, along with other dignitaries. Oak Hill Memorial Park, 300 Curtner Ave., San Jose

1 p.m. Memorial Day concert with guitarist Dan Deshara, who will perform popular songs from the Vietnam era. Rithet Park, Rolph and Loring Avenues, Crockett.

3 p.m. Memorial Day National Moment of Remembrance. All Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority buses and light rail buses will stop for one minute for a moment of silence.

7 p.m. Memorial Day vigil at the Lafayette Crosses, a memorial for soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.
