A new study warns pizza may account for more than 20 percent of a child's calories in a day, potentially leading to health problems like childhood obesity, Type 2 diabetes and hypertension.

"Pizza can be great if it is done right with the right ingredients, it just deserves an upgrade," nutritionist Rachel Beller said.

But experts say not all slices of pizza are created equally and suggest opting for vegetables, thinner crust or going light on the cheese.
