An erratic driver was shot and killed by police after she drove on the sidewalk, crashed into cars, and drove at officers.

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- San Francisco police officers are investigating a fatal officer-involved shooting at Pine and Van Ness streets that involved an erratic driver. The driver has been identified as 24-year-old San Francisco resident Alice Brown.

Authorities say plainclothes officers were investigating reports of a possible stolen car near Pine and Van Ness streets and approached the driver. When police flashed their badges Brown fled.

Officers pursued Brown and she then tried to evade officers and made a U-turn against traffic. Police said she then struck multiple cars and ended up driving the sidewalk.

The driver nearly hit a motorcyclist who had to jump off the bike to get out of the way of her car. The woman then turned towards officers and two officers opened fire, fatally striking her.
