Authorities say a man found dead in a conference room inside Apple's headquarters in Cupertino was a company employee. They note that this was an "isolated incident" and the public is not at risk.

CUPERTINO, Calif. (KGO) -- The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office responded to a man shot dead inside Apple's Cupertino headquarters on Wednesday morning. The coroner's office hasn't released exact details on the cause of death, but early dispatch reports suggest the man had a gun.

The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office says nobody else was at risk and no one else was involved in the incident.

Around 8:30 a.m., deputies were dispatched to Apple's Cupertino headquarters.

Dispatch: "... bleeding with a head wound to the head .. possibly has a gun. looks like security was escorting the employee down."

The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office confirms a male employee was found dead inside the building.

"It will be up to coroner to determine the manner and cause of death," said Sgt. Andrea Urena.

Dispatch sound initially suggested there may have been others involved.

Dispatch: "... they're advising that there is a body in one of the conference rooms with a gun, so we're not really sure if multiple people involved."

But the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office says nobody else was at risk.

"What happens next is that the coroner will arrive to conduct an investigation as well as our investigators to determine all the details of what happened here," said Urena.

More than seven hours after the initial incident, the coroner was still on the scene conducting a parallel investigation to the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office.

Apple's campus remained open for business.
