Autistic boy gets big surprise
E.J. Paterson, 6, is getting a year's worth of fries from McDonalds.

A North Carolina boy with autism was turned away from a local restaurant.

Six-year-old E.J. Paterson was eating his favorite food, McDonald's french fries, at a Golden Corral restaurant with his mom. They were asked to leave because the food came from outside the restaurant.

When a McDonald's franchise owner heard E.J.'s story he stepped in and offered him an unlimited supply of french fries for a year.

"For them to actually care and understand you know, it hurt me. That is the blessing because everybody's not as caring and considerate," said Latonya Whitaker.

Whitaker says she usually spends about $200 a month at McDonald's, so this will be a big help.
