1 dead after triple shooting in Richmond

Richmond police investigate triple-shooting
One person has died after a triple shooting in Richmond overnight.

RICHMOND, Calif. (KGO) -- Richmond police are investigating a triple shooting that left one person dead. It happened around 12:30 a.m. on Marina Way South and Wright Avenue, close to I-580.

That's also about two blocks from the Richmond police department. The front end of a car is smashed in and what a bullet hole can be seen in the back of the car.

Police have marked at least 29 bullet casings at the scene. Authorities say all three victims were in the car that crashed after the shooting. Police believe the gunman was in a car and drove away and that the victims' car was targeted.

Investigators have not released information on the victims or possible suspects.
