As I told him at the start of the show today, when I knew I was doing this digital interview show, I drew up a list of guests I’d like to have, and there really was only one name at the top of the list.
Jim Harbaugh.
I also very much wanted Tom Tolbert to be on the first day, and we did that one, too, but I just felt that a Harbaugh conversation, at this moment in time, would be the perfect way to start this off.
I want to talk to newsmakers, opinion-makers and people I just like talking to, and Harbaugh fills every one of those categories, especially the last one.
Harbaugh was relaxed, open, and answered every question I asked, and that included speaking about going up against Ohio State, the circumstances of his departure from the 49ers, his lack of thoughts about Jim Tomsula succeeding him, and much, much more.
Even got a new TV show recommendation from him.
As we discussed: This is just going to mess up all those thoughts that he and I dislike each other. (We don’t and we never have. We actually have always gotten along very, very well–even when we were yelling at each other a time or two.)
