SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Police say they're investigating racist graffiti in San Francisco's Portola neighborhood as a hate crime.

Officials say someone spray-painted "No more Chinese" at various locations including the 1300 block of Silver Ave., the 500 block of Felton, the 100 block of Brussels, and the Palega playground.

Neighbors took matters into their own hands at one of the locations and scratched out the word "no."

Police say officers are searching to see if there are any other locations that have been vandalized or if there is any surveillance video that may have caught the suspect in the act.
